ranma goes to akane with two bits of paper clutched in his hand.

He nervously asks to speak to her in private.

Akane takes it the wrong way and calls him a pervert.

Ranma stammers out a response, they move outside away from any 
eavesdroppers.

Ranma nervously asks akane out, when a quick rain showere changes him to a 
girl.

Akane gets annoyed at the thought of going out with a girl as she sees ranma 
now and her temper explodes as she has had a bad day with kuno and her 
freinds all harrasing her and teasing her about being a lesbian.

Just as ranma is extending her hand to show akane the papers in her hand, 
akanes hand whips out and punches ranma back into the pond, dropping the 
papers on the way. Akane screams about perverts and how she hates ranma.

Ranma sits dejectedly in the pond not moving, trying to stop from crying.

akane keeps insulting ranma, ranma has had enough. she slowly gets up and 
quietly anounces that the engagement is over,it would never work.

Akane is shoked speechless and doesnt move.

ranma stalks into the house, packs up her pack and heads out. before she 
leaves she turned to akane with tears in her eyes, I loved you, why couldnt you 
love me back? she runs from the house, leaving a trail of sparkling tears falling 
to the ground.

nabiki walks up to akane and tells her off, she picks up the papers, revealing 
them to be expensive tickets to a band akane really likes. SHe shoves them in 
akanes face and scowls. she tells her that when akane was acusing ranma of 
cheating on her, he was working on a part time job which he had told her but 
akane didnt beleive. Ranma worked because he really wanted to make it work 
with akane and so had spent several months planning the perfect date. Nabiki 
knew cause she spyed on him. First they go to a concert, then an dinner a posh 
restaurant then a walk in the park. ANd all of it away from nerima while all the 
other fiances are distracted to somewhere else.

akane clutches the tickets and burst into sobs, breaking down.

the final nail in the coffin, nabiki tells akane that ranma had even bought akane 
an engagement ring and was planning on making it official.


Ranma doesnt return that night or the next day. Akane is in tears as she realises 
that that day was the date night and she could have gotten closer to ranma but 
her temper made her throw it all away.

the next day they get a call from the hospital, ranma is in critical condition. He 
was in a bank withdrawing what little cash he had left when it was robbed by 
men with guns. (big action sequence, ranma is a hero but he got shot and 
collapses at the end.)
